Yuga Labs’ Meebits Teams Up With WarpSound To Drop New NFT Music Album

Meebits, an NFT collection from Bored Ape creator Yuga Labs, has partnered with artificial intelligence-powered generative music platform ‘WarpSound’ to unleash a new NFT music album.

In a December 23 blog post, Yuga Labs’ Meebits confirmed launching a new non-fungible token music album called “Meetbits Turn On” in partnership with AI generative metaverse music platform WarpSound.

Meebits Unleashes New Music NFT Album

Yuga Labs is home to popular NFT collections, including Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, Kennel Ape Yacht Club, Meebits, and Otherdeed for the Otherside.

The NFT pioneer acquired Meebits, a collection featuring a fixed set of 20,000 3D voxel characters, from Larva Labs in early March 2022 as part of its journey to venture into the NFT music industry.

Yuga Labs Meebits began its NFT music production in partnership with Authentic Artist’s WarpSound earlier in November. After a few weeks of incubation, the joint team has launched a new NFT music album called ‘Meebits Turn On.’ The publication wrote:

“Today, we’re releasing the complete “Meebits Turn On” album – including 13 new, never-been-heard songs – on major music streaming platforms, and WarpSound is offering it as a digital collectible for Meebit holders.”

According to the announcement, all songs from the Meetbits Turn On NFT album are free to use, and users can redistribute or remix under the Creative Common license. Crypto users and music fans can listen for free on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

In the meantime, Meebits NFT holders can claim a free tokenized song starting mid-this week until December 31. During this period, users minting the new ERC-1155 NFTs will only incur gas fees as transaction charges.

Yuga Labs joins other famous entertainment firms in the NFT music industry, including Warner Music Group, which recently partnered with the OpenSea NFT marketplace to enable some artists to foster their communities using Web3 tools.

Others firms in the NFT music sector include Sony Music Entertainment, which recently filed trademark applications with United State Patent and Trademark Office related to NFTs and metaverse. Sony plans to authenticate its music using NFTs.
